The first World Vets clinic held in Nosara surpassed expectations, completing 205 surgeries and 190 consultations in 3 days. Pet owners arrived hours before opening and waited patiently to have their animals seen. [The majority of surguries were spays and neuters, but the vets also dealt with a young pig with a hernia and a dog that needed its eye removed.] |
Nineteen veterninarians, animal technicians and vet students came from the US and Canada to help the animals. The WV’s were supported by local groups such as The Harmony Hotel, Marlin Bill’s Resturant, and the Chicas – Kathy Santeiro, Kathy King, Ann Marie Ermatinger, Ally Lambert, Micki Savage and Nancy Rinehart – who all contributed lunch on one of the 3 days.
Sarah Foster, Dr Carl Wells and the rest of us at NAC would like to thank the individuals above as well as Saskia Ellemeet, Carrie Anderson, Debbie Bishop and Vincent Bishop for their tireless support.
But in particular we thank the community for caring for their animals and giving them a better life.
THANK YOU.
